We are delighted to announce that as of last week, Calculus has officially opened its new Branch in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

One Year in the Making

This achievement follows a rigorous twelve-month licensing approval process, working with both the DIFC Authority and the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA). This included examination of the following components against regulatory requirements:

  • Multiple rounds of interviews with senior management & MLRO, including assessment of CVs, professional background & individual suitability to operate a regulated DNFBP in DIFC
  • Review of our AML manual & group policies including Customer Due Diligence, KYC & sanctions screening procedures, as well as staff training plans
  • Developing a detailed business case and business plan
  • Completing mandatory AML/CFT compliance training with a DIFC-registered providern-depth analysis of the Calculus group structure & entities, including shared resources and governance arrangements
  • Review of management accounts, and audited financial statements, as part of a broader Source of Funds assessment
  • Institutional familiarity and knowledge of DFSA compliance framework.

Public Register & Status

As per public records, Calculus is now a recognised DIFC company, and regulated under the Designated Non-Financial Business & Professions (DNFBP) category with the DFSA. Our registration details can be publicly reviewed here:

What This Means: Our DIFC Capabilities

Aside from our core services of company formation, banking / visa solutions, compliance and company secretarial services — as a licensed Corporate Service Provider (CSP) in DIFC, Calculus can now act as Registered Agent, providing Registered Address services.

This is particularly relevant for two incorporation options: DIFC Foundations and DIFC SPVs (Prescribed Companies). In 2026, DIFC has expanded the qualifying criteria on who can incorporate DIFC SPVs, and the FTA has provided increased clarity on family Foundations and tax treatment of unincorporated partnerships. The regulatory environment is thus evolving favourably, and we anticipate healthy demand for these types of structures.

A New Chapter

This launch marks the start of a new growth phase for Calculus & KSI. Coming soon after the recent opening of our KSI Audit office in ADGM earlier in 2026, our broader group now has a presence in both of the UAE’s leading financial centres — differentiating us from competitors, and positioning us strongly for long-term success.

With the commitment & dedication of everyone across Calculus & KSI, we look forward to seeing our new DIFC office flourish in the years to come.
